Collaborating as a team on an IP case

A creation made by several hands raises one question before all others: who owns it? The case file answers that, contribution by contribution.

Working together

Ownership, contributions, traceability of input.

Ownership, documented at the source

Founders, employees, freelancers, contractors: each contribution is attributed to its author at the moment it is certified. This is the most common gray area in due diligence, and the most costly to reconstruct after the fact.

Joint works and related assets

Successive versions, mockups, sessions, artworks, code iterations: it's the same Creative Session Registry as for solo work (see "Securing your creations"), but shared among several contributors — including contributions from generative AI, whose ownership calls for stronger evidence.

Roles, sharing and audit log

Case files can be shared among team members with distinct roles, and every action is logged. This log is part of the reasonable protective measures required by trade secret law.

Co-authors declared and timestamped with each deposit
Chain of versions and contributions preserved
Contributions from generative AI tracked separately
